FLAGLER BEACH, FL – A 23-year-old man is out on bond after a seven-month investigation into the online solicitation of a 14-year-old girl. Cameron Terry, of Flagler Beach, surrendered to authorities on Monday, February 2, 2026, following a digital forensic probe that successfully recovered messages he believed he had erased.
The case was spearheaded by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Cyber Crimes/ICAC Unit in coordination with the NEFL INTERCEPT Task Force.
The Investigation: “No Proof” Tactics Fail
The investigation began in June 2025 when a concerned third party reported that Terry, aged 22 at the time of the crime, was sending sexually explicit messages to a young teenager he had met while playing an online poker game.
Key findings of the investigation include:
- The “Vanishing” Strategy: Terry allegedly utilized Snapchat’s “delete after viewing” settings and explicitly instructed the 14-year-old victim not to save any messages because he did not want “proof” of their interactions.
- Admission of Knowledge: During a police interview, Terry reportedly admitted he was aware the victim was 14 years old and confirmed asking her for explicit photographs.
- Forensic Recovery: Despite Terry’s efforts to wipe his digital footprint, the FCSO Digital Forensics Unit executed a search warrant on his phones and successfully recovered deleted conversations from both Snapchat and Discord.
Arrest and Charges
Terry turned himself in at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility a few hours after his father was informed of the active warrant. He is facing two felony counts:
- Solicitation of a Child for Unlawful Sexual Conduct (Using a computer service or device)
- Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device
Sheriff’s Response
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly praised the collaborative effort of the task force and the bystander who first reported the crime.
“I commend the team on this investigation, and I also want to thank the third-party caller who was looking out for the victim,” Sheriff Staly stated. “I also thank the suspect’s father for having his son turn himself in. That’s a hard decision for a parent, but the father did the right thing.”
Status and Bond
Following his booking, Terry was released after posting a $60,000 bond. He is likely subject to court-ordered conditions, including no unsupervised contact with minors and restrictions on internet usage, pending his trial.
