Jacksonville Man Convicted of Aggravated Stalking After Two-Year Harassment of Minor

DUVAL COUNTY, Florida – A Jacksonville jury has found 52-year-old Benjamin John Parsons guilty of Aggravated Stalking, Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device, and Violation of an Injunction Against Stalking, State Attorney Melissa Nelson announced. Parsons now faces up to 10 years in Florida State Prison. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date by the Honorable L.E. Hutton.

According to evidence presented at trial, the case began on December 28, 2022, when Parsons entered a clothing business on San Jose Boulevard and asked a minor employee for coffee. After she declined, prosecutors said Parsons began repeatedly calling the business, leaving voicemails addressed to the victim, and later appeared at her home without invitation over a two-year period.

The victim obtained an injunction for protection against stalking, prohibiting Parsons from coming within 500 feet of her workplace.

On December 27, 2024, officers were called to the same San Jose Boulevard clothing store after Parsons was reported to be in violation of the injunction. Police found him within the restricted distance, seated in a position that allowed him to see when the victim left the business. Parsons initially denied contacting the victim but later admitted to being within 500 feet of the store. He was arrested at the scene.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant State Attorneys Kierstyn Jennings and Joy Whitmore prosecuted it.
