Punta Gorda Restaurant Manager Charged with Felony Child Pornography Possession

PUNTA GORDA, FL — The manager of a popular local restaurant is facing a second-degree felony charge following an investigation into the possession of illicit digital material. Ryan Scott Beagles, 28, was arrested by the Punta Gorda Police Department on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Beagles is the manager of the Golden Corral located in Punta Gorda.

Enhanced Felony Charges

According to investigators, the probe confirmed that Beagles was in possession of child pornography. Some of the Child Porn was generated with AI. Under Florida Statutes, the severity of the charge was automatically increased due to the volume of material discovered:

  • The Threshold: Detectives found ten or more images and/or videos depicting child pornography.
  • The Enhancement: Because of this volume, the charge was elevated from a third-degree felony to a second-degree felony.
  • The Penalty: In Florida, a second-degree felony is punishable by up to 15 years in state prison.

Arrest and Bond Status

Following his arrest on February 21, Beagles was booked into the Charlotte County Jail. Court records indicate he was released on bond the following day, February 22.

The Punta Gorda Police Department has stated that the investigation remains “open,” though they have not yet clarified if they believe additional victims are involved or if the material was accessed on restaurant property.
