Ashley Hildreth and Christopher Jacobs

Flagler County Sheriff Highlights Two Major Arrests, Speeding Motorcyclist and Armed Burglar

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies made 29 arrests between 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 and 6 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, while responding to 849 calls for service and conducting 227 traffic stops, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Among those arrests were two incidents that drew particular attention over the weekend.

Tennessee Man Arrested for 100+ MPH Motorcycle Ride on I-95

Deputies arrested Christopher Jacobs, 44, of Tennessee, after he was clocked riding a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle at speeds exceeding 100 mph on Interstate 95.

On Feb. 28 around 6 p.m., a deputy conducting traffic enforcement observed the motorcycle traveling southbound at excessive speeds. Authorities say Jacobs was weaving through traffic, tailgating vehicles, and failing to signal while making aggressive lane changes. The deputy paced the motorcycle at approximately 114 to 116 mph before conducting a traffic stop near mile marker 279.

During the stop, Jacobs told deputies he had a handgun inside a saddlebag along with marijuana. An inventory search prior to towing the motorcycle uncovered a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P .38 Special revolver, approximately six grams of suspected marijuana, and a smoking device containing burnt residue. Deputies also determined the Tennessee tag displayed on the motorcycle did not belong to the bike.

Jacobs was arrested on charges of dangerous excessive speeding (100+ mph), attaching a tag not assigned, possession of cannabis under 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility and later released on $2,000 bond.

Sheriff Rick Staly commented that while Bike Week brings visitors to the area, reckless driving and illegal activity will not be tolerated.

New Hampshire Woman Arrested After Armed Burglary in Palm Coast

In a separate incident, deputies arrested Ashley Hildreth, 36, of New Hampshire, following what investigators described as a domestic dispute that escalated into an armed burglary.

Around 3 a.m. on March 1, deputies responded to Baltimore Lane in Palm Coast after receiving a report of a residential burglary. The victim told deputies Hildreth had been visiting from New Hampshire and became intoxicated following a disagreement. He said he instructed her not to return to his home and arranged alternate sleeping accommodations.

Authorities say Hildreth later forced entry into the residence through a rear window while the victim was away. Investigators found evidence that she shut off power at the breaker box, disabling lights and security cameras, then located the victim’s .22 caliber revolver and barricaded herself inside a bathroom.

Deputies made contact with Hildreth as she exited into the garage area and took her into custody without incident. The firearm was recovered.

Hildreth was charged with armed burglary of a dwelling, grand theft of a firearm, simple battery (dating violence), and felony criminal mischief. She remains held without bond at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
