Walton County 911 Dispatcher Arrested for Soliciting Dozens of Children

FREEPORT, FL — A 22-year-old 911 dispatcher for the Walton County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested and charged with more than 50 felonies after an investigation revealed he allegedly used gaming platforms to prey on children. Jordan David-Lee Smith was taken into custody on Thursday morning, March 5, 2026, at his home in Freeport.

The arrest marks a staggering breach of public trust, with investigators identifying more than two dozen victims aged 11 to 17.

The Digital Investigation: Gaming Platforms Used as Hunting Grounds

The probe into Smith began in December 2025, after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) flagged suspicious activity on various gaming platforms.

  • The CyberTips: Multiple reports linked solicitation activity to accounts that WCSO investigators ultimately traced back to Smith.
  • The Scope: Forensic analysis of digital records and electronic devices revealed that Smith allegedly used his accounts to solicit 25 different victims for unlawful sexual conduct.
  • The Raid: On February 24, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at Smith’s residence. Multiple devices were seized for forensic processing, and Smith was immediately fired from his position as a dispatcher.

52 Felony Counts Filed

Following the forensic review, the State Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant. Smith is currently being held in the Walton County Jail without bond pending his first appearance. He faces a massive list of charges:

  • 25 Counts: Solicitation of a Minor for Unlawful Sexual Conduct
  • 25 Counts: Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony
  • 2 Counts: Possession of Child Pornography

A “Profound Violation” of Agency Standards

Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson addressed the arrest of a former member of his own staff with gravity, emphasizing that employment with the agency offers no protection for criminal activity.

“The actions uncovered during this investigation are deeply troubling and represent a profound violation of the trust placed in anyone who serves this agency,” said Sheriff Adkinson. “Our employees will be held to the highest standards, and when those standards are betrayed, especially in a way that harms children, we will not hesitate to act swiftly.”
