Jacksonville Beach, FL — A woman has been charged months after a shooting that sent dozens of rounds into a Jacksonville Beach neighborhood, striking multiple properties and vehicles.
According to the Jacksonville Beach Police Department, officers responded on November 16, 2025, at approximately 8:49 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of 6th Street South.
When officers arrived, they encountered a chaotic scene. Investigators later located the victim, who had fled the area after the shooting in an effort to avoid the suspects.
The victim told police she had been sitting inside her vehicle in the 500 block of 4th Avenue South when multiple shots were fired at her and her vehicle.
During the investigation, officers recovered more than 35 shell casings from the scene. Gunfire struck several fences, trees, a residence, and two vehicles in the area. Despite the extensive damage, no injuries were reported.
Detectives conducted interviews and investigative work over the following months, eventually identifying a second victim and possible suspects connected to the shooting.
On March 6, 2026, detectives with the department’s Special Investigations Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Mauriana Maylin Dixon.
Dixon faces two counts of attempted second-degree murder and two counts of shooting or throwing deadly missiles.
Authorities say the investigation remains active as detectives continue working to identify any additional suspects involved.
