Woman Confesses to Stabbing Roommate to Death in Punta Gorda

Punta Gorda, FL — A woman has been arrested after deputies say she confessed to killing her roommate following an argument at a Punta Gorda home.

Charlotte County deputies responded the evening of March 8, 2026, to a residence on Gewant Boulevard after receiving a report of a person not breathing. When deputies arrived, they found 76-year-old Paul De Wayne Bradley deceased at the scene.

Detectives with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded and began investigating the death.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that Bradley’s pickup truck was missing from the residence. Detectives later learned the vehicle had been driven into Sarasota County. Investigators shared the information with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, whose deputies located the vehicle in their jurisdiction.

Bradley’s roommate, 48-year-old Shannon Rose Giblin, was found with the vehicle and detained by Sarasota County deputies.

Charlotte County detectives later interviewed Giblin, who confessed to stabbing Bradley following an argument. Investigators say Giblin told them that after realizing Bradley was beyond help, she covered his body with a tarp before leaving the home in his pickup truck.

Giblin was arrested and charged with murder (not premeditated) and grand theft of a motor vehicle. She is currently being held without bond.

Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell praised detectives and partner agencies for quickly identifying and locating the suspect.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
