Alabama Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop in Florida Leads to Meth Discovery and Assault on Deputy

Ebro, FL — A traffic stop in Washington County led to the arrest of an Alabama woman after deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine and say she became combative with law enforcement.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed a vehicle committing a traffic violation on Highway 79 in Ebro on March 9, 2026. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as 35-year-old Autumn Lauren Walker of Alabama.

During the initial encounter, the deputy noticed a clear plastic baggie containing a white crystal substance lying on the seat near Walker’s leg. When asked about the suspected narcotics, Walker appeared confused and attempted to conceal the baggie.

The deputy gave multiple commands for Walker to exit the vehicle, but she refused to comply. Deputies eventually assisted her out of the vehicle, but authorities say she remained combative and continued ignoring commands.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies located methamphetamine.

Authorities say that once Walker was transported to the Washington County Jail, the plastic baggie she had attempted to conceal during the traffic stop was discovered during a search, along with additional drug paraphernalia hidden on her person.

Walker was charged with resisting an officer with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.

She was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail.
