LAKE CITY, Florida – Columbia County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 22 year old Caleb Reyes-Sainz on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, following a multi month investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material. The investigation began in late January after detectives with the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Reyes-Sainz is currently being held at the Columbia County Detention Facility on two third degree felony charges.
The case originated on January 27, 2026, when authorities identified a suspect based in Lake City through forensic digital leads. Following the initial report, investigators executed several search warrants and conducted forensic examinations of electronic devices. These searches resulted in the recovery of four images and videos categorized as child sexual abuse material.
Reyes-Sainz, a resident of Fort White, Florida, is charged with the possession, control, or viewing of child pornography and the use of a two way communication device to commit a felony. Records from the Columbia County Detention Facility indicate he is being held on a $260,000 bond.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation remains active. Authorities noted that additional charges could be filed as detectives continue to process evidence related to the case.
