25-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with SUV in Ormond Beach

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A 25-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Ormond Beach.

Officers responded around 4:29 p.m. on March 19, 2026, to the intersection of North Nova Road and North Old Kings Road.

According to a preliminary investigation, a white 2017 Lexus SUV was traveling northbound on North Nova Road and attempted to turn left into the Trails Shopping Center. At the same time, a black 2019 Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound.

Police say the SUV turned into the path of the motorcycle, causing a collision.

The motorcyclist, identified as Chase Rivera of Ormond Beach, was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators said speed does not appear to be a contributing factor based on witness statements.

“This tragic crash is a stark reminder of how quickly lives can change on our roadways,” said Police Chief Jesse Godfrey. “We strongly urge all drivers to remain vigilant, especially when making turns.”

The crash remains under investigation.
