Major Drug Bust: Nearly 400 Pills, Fentanyl Seized in Flagler County

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A routine traffic stop early April 4 led to the arrest of a South Daytona man and the seizure of hundreds of suspected drug pills, including MDMA and fentanyl, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Just after midnight, a deputy stopped a vehicle in Bunnell for a broken taillight. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Dequan Lundy, was found to have an active warrant for failure to appear related to a cocaine possession case.

During the stop, deputies discovered a large quantity of suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. In the glove box, they found a bag containing approximately 290 white pills, weighing more than 160 grams, which tested presumptive positive for MDMA.

Additional pills were located in a jar in the center console, including two blue “Superman”-shaped pills that tested presumptive positive for fentanyl, along with multiple other colored pills that also tested positive for MDMA.

Deputies also recovered about 18 grams of marijuana, a small bag of powder that tested positive for MDMA, four vape pens containing THC oil, a glass pipe, and capsules with marijuana residue.

In total, authorities seized nearly 400 pills from the vehicle.

Lundy was arrested and charged with trafficking in phenethylamines (MDMA), possession of fentanyl, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to appear.

He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
