DELTONA, Fla. — Two individuals have been arrested after deputies say they fired at a vehicle following an argument that began on social media, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday to a shooting in the area of Hemingway Drive. The victim told investigators she had gone to the location to meet a woman in person after an argument on Facebook.
According to the report, when the victim arrived, she saw two individuals standing in a driveway, both armed with handguns. She said no words were exchanged before both raised their arms and fired at her vehicle.
The victim reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing muzzle flashes. Her rear window was shattered, and after leaving the scene, she discovered a flat tire on the front passenger side.
After several hours of announcements over a public address system, authorities said 29-year-old Ines Jonjic, along with her children and 15-year-old Elijah Woodberry, exited the home and surrendered around 5:30 a.m.
Investigators recovered two different types of shell casings in the garage. Jonjic admitted to firing at the vehicle, and her firearm was located in her bedroom. A second weapon was not recovered, and Woodberry did not admit to firing.
Both Jonjic and Woodberry were charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Woodberry faces additional charges including possession of a firearm by a delinquent, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, trafficking in cocaine and violation of probation related to a prior case.
Jonjic is also facing multiple drug-related charges after deputies reported finding marijuana, amphetamines and other pills in her residence and vehicles. Additional charges include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of Schedule II and IV controlled substances, possession of a new legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
