Seminole County Man Arrested After Investigators Find Child Abuse Files on Phone

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — A 60-year-old Altamonte Springs man has been arrested on multiple child sexual abuse material charges following an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Altamonte Springs Police Department.

Authorities said Paul Angelo Ayala was arrested on 20 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material as part of FDLE’s statewide initiative targeting individuals accused of exploiting children online.

Investigators said the case began in September 2025 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children submitted a cybertip reporting that someone was saving child sexual abuse material to an online account.

According to FDLE, agents later identified Ayala as the owner of the account.

On May 5, 2026, agents obtained a search warrant for Ayala’s cellphone and seized the device for forensic analysis.

Authorities said investigators discovered videos and images depicting the sexual abuse of children stored on the phone.

Ayala was taken into custody May 6 and transported to the Seminole County Jail (John E Polk Correctional Facility). His bond was set at $700,000.

The case is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution.

Officials said the investigation remains active and additional charges could be filed pending further forensic analysis.
