LAKE CITY, Fla. – Authorities have arrested the final two suspects accused of participating in a series of armed home invasion robberies that targeted residences in Lake City and Columbia County during August 2025.
The arrests conclude a joint investigation conducted by the Lake City Police Department and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office into three violent home invasions that occurred between Aug. 19 and Aug. 31, 2025.
The first robbery occurred at approximately 1:59 a.m. on Aug. 19 at an apartment in the 1200 block of Southwest Zesty Circle. Investigators said two masked men dressed in black forced their way inside after announcing themselves as members of the Sheriff’s Office. Armed with handguns, they demanded money before stealing cash and an iPhone 14.
A second home invasion occurred shortly after midnight on Aug. 28 at an apartment in the 3800 block of Northwest Huntsboro Street. According to investigators, three masked men wearing black clothing and gloves again posed as law enforcement officers before forcing entry. The suspects held the occupants at gunpoint and stole cash and an iPhone 14.
The third robbery took place on Aug. 31 at approximately 9:54 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Southwest Petunia Place in unincorporated Columbia County. Investigators said four armed suspects entered the residence, demanded money and ransacked the home before fleeing with jewelry, watches, cologne and clothing.
Detectives determined the robberies shared several distinctive characteristics, including suspects impersonating law enforcement officers, wearing dark clothing and masks, and targeting cash.
The joint investigation previously led to the arrests in 2025 of Trever A. Strawder, Ja’Kyris A. Martin and Ajahnnie L. Ward.
Authorities announced Tuesday that the final two suspects have now been taken into custody.
Deon V. Robinson, 32, of Ocala, was arrested in Lake County on April 5, 2026. He is charged with two counts of home invasion with a firearm, two counts of kidnapping/false imprisonment, impersonating a law enforcement officer, deprivation of 911 service and tampering with evidence.
Donavin D. Wyche, 19, of Lady Lake, was arrested on July 6, 2026. He is charged with home invasion with a firearm, possession or display of a firearm during the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit a first-degree felony.
Both Robinson and Wyche are being held at the Columbia County Detention Center.
