PALM COAST, Fla. – A Palm Coast man was arrested Sunday after deputies say he repeatedly violated a court-issued protective injunction by confronting a woman in a grocery store parking lot and preventing her from leaving.
According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the Publix on Belle Terre Parkway after an employee reported that a man had been standing at a woman’s driver’s side door for about 30 minutes and appeared to be preventing her from leaving in her vehicle.
When deputies arrived, they found 28-year-old Andrew Briedis leaning into the open driver’s side doorway. Deputies reported hearing the woman repeatedly tell him, “No.”
Investigators said Briedis initially told deputies the two were only talking. He later admitted the woman was telling him “no” because he had been licking her, claiming he was “playing around” and wanted to see if she would “engage.” According to deputies, the woman repeatedly told him to stop and leave her alone.
Briedis told deputies the two had previously been in a relationship.
Deputies determined Briedis was the subject of an active injunction protecting the woman. The court order prohibited him from contacting her or going near her, her home, her workplace or her vehicle.
According to the sheriff’s office, Briedis acknowledged he knew about the injunction and admitted he was not permitted to contact the victim. He also allegedly told deputies he had been in contact with her nearly every week and had violated the injunction before.
Investigators said Briedis was previously arrested in March 2026 for violating the same protective order. Deputies also investigated another alleged violation in June 2026 but were unable to locate him at that time.
Briedis was arrested and charged with violating an injunction. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he was being held without bond.
