Woman Arrested After Domestic-Related Stabbing in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A 21-year-old woman was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon following a domestic-related stabbing that left one person hospitalized in Daytona Beach.

At approximately 3:51 p.m. on Aug. 11, Daytona Beach Police officers were flagged down about a stabbing and responded to the 900 block of Cedar Street.

According to the preliminary investigation, the victim and a woman identified as Rosemary Mercado Torres, 21, became involved in a disturbance that escalated into a stabbing.

Police said Torres left the area in a vehicle before officers arrived.

Officers later located the vehicle and took Torres into custody.

Investigators determined that Torres and the victim are in a domestic relationship. Police did not release additional details about what led to the confrontation or the nature of the victim’s injuries.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The investigation remains active, and Daytona Beach Police said no additional information was immediately available for release.
