Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Opens New Public Services Building on Magnolia Street

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville residents seeking fingerprints, public records and several other services from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office now have a new place to go.

JSO opened its new Public Services Building at 450 Magnolia St. on Sept. 28, bringing several frequently used public-facing services together at one location.

The building serves as a one-stop destination for services including fingerprinting, public records requests, performer work identification applications and renewals, and recruitment services.

The Public Services Building is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and weekends.

One of the changes accompanying the move is additional parking for people visiting JSO. Free public parking is available on the first floor of the building’s attached garage.

District 1 personnel are also operating from the Magnolia Street building after moving from their former offices on Norwood Avenue earlier in September.

JSO headquarters remains on Riverside Avenue

The new Public Services Building does not replace the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office headquarters at 532 Riverside Ave.

The Riverside Avenue facility will continue to house JSO’s administrative and investigative offices. Security personnel will also be available there to direct residents who arrive looking for services offered at the Magnolia Street building.

Public parking at headquarters is available in the first two rows of the parking lot at Riverside Avenue and Rosselle Street. The main public entrance faces Rosselle Street.

The headquarters parking lot will also continue to serve as a location for JSO’s Safer Transaction program. Residents can use the designated law enforcement location to meet when buying or selling legal merchandise through online marketplaces.

A prescription drug drop box remains available at headquarters 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Residents can anonymously dispose of unused or outdated medications and prescriptions through the program.

Residents looking for public services can find additional information through JSO’s Services We Offer page. The Sheriff’s Office has also released a video showing how to access the new Public Services Building.
