Lieutenant Eloilda “Ellie” Shea, 39, of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, was shot and killed by her estranged husband on Monday, October 14, 2024. Lt. Shea had been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2011, where she was known for her compassion, leadership, and dedication to the community.
A mentor and advocate for many, Lt. Shea leaves behind two young daughters. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office expressed deep sorrow over her loss, mourning the impact she had on colleagues and the community she served. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
