On January 11, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Gainesville Police officers responded to reports of a vehicle crash and gunfire on Hillcrest Avenue.
Emergency crews discovered 17-year-old Aristo Ramirez, of Gainesville, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound at the scene. A second victim, a 16-year-old male, was later treated for a gunshot wound to the foot at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Investigators believe the incident was not random, suggesting Ramirez was shot prior to crashing the vehicle. The second teen reportedly fled the area on foot before police arrived.
