Two Children Killed, Woman Critically Injured in Sarasota Hit-and-Run; Suspect Vehicle Located

Two children have died, and a 29-year-old woman remains in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash on February 10, 2025, in the area of SR 683 (North Washington/301) and 7th Street.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Sarasota Police officers responded to reports of a vehicle striking pedestrians before fleeing the scene. The suspect vehicle was described as a white 2013-2018 Lexus ES300.

Emergency responders transported the victims, a 29-year-old woman, a 2-year-old, and a 5-month-old, to area hospitals under trauma alerts. Both children later died from their injuries, while the woman remains hospitalized in critical condition.

On February 12, 2025, Sarasota Police Traffic Unit investigators located a vehicle believed to be involved in the fatal crash. The registered owner and driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Sarasota Police thanked the public for their calls, emails, and tips in assisting with the case. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
