11-Year-Old Arrested for School Threat in Nassau County

An 11-year-old boy, Carnell Henry, has been arrested by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) on felony charges of written threats to kill and disturbing a lawful assembly with a credible threat.

The arrest stems from a threatening voicemail left on the Hilliard Elementary School’s business phone on February 25, 2025, at approximately 6:50 p.m. The voicemail, which stated, “I am going to kill you guys tomorrow at 1 p.m. My name is Daryl Edwards,” was not discovered by school officials until the following morning.

NCSO investigators traced the call to a phone number linked to a family member of Henry, a student at Hilliard Middle-Senior High School. Henry was subsequently located and taken into custody.

As a precaution, additional law enforcement officers were deployed to the school.

“Parents please talk to your child if you don’t want to see their mugshot on the news. We take every threat against our schools seriously, regardless of the age of the individual making the threat. The safety of our students and school staff remains our highest priority, and we will continue to respond swiftly and decisively to any threats. This should serve as a reminder that such actions have serious consequences,” stated Sheriff Bill Leeper.
