Tampa Man with Prior Felonies Arrested for Road Rage Gun Incident

A road rage incident on June 11, 2025, near the intersection of West Hillsborough Avenue and Harney Road, culminated in the arrest of a three-time convicted felon thanks to a collaborative effort between the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and the Tampa Police Department (TPD).

Corey Alexander Jackson, 42, allegedly pointed a black pistol at two victims during a traffic confrontation.

Detectives quickly identified Jackson as the suspect. On June 16, 2025, Jackson was taken into custody by the Tampa Police Department outside his residence.

He was booked on the following charges:

  • Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (x2)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm

“Our streets should never be a place for this kind of reckless violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the swift work of our detectives and our law enforcement partners at TPD, a dangerous individual is off the streets.”
