LEVY COUNTY, Fla. — Justin Bryant, 36, of Morriston, was sentenced to 40 years in the Florida Department of Corrections for a violent stabbing spree that left four people injured in a quiet neighborhood on May 30, 2024.
Authorities say Bryant, under the influence of drugs, attacked four individuals in a short time span, inflicting severe physical injuries and lasting emotional trauma. No clear motive was established.
Following his arrest, Bryant was held in the Levy County Detention Center awaiting trial. He recently entered an “open” plea of guilty before 8th Judicial Circuit Judge Davis, seeking leniency. Due to the brutality of the crimes, Judge Davis imposed a lengthy prison term.
The attacks prompted a massive law enforcement response after 911 calls began pouring in while Bryant remained at large. All available Levy County deputies and Williston Police Department officers joined the search. Bryant was quickly located and apprehended by a Williston officer and a Levy County deputy, an effort authorities say may have prevented further harm.
