JACKSONVILLE, FL — 25-year-old Allen Washington has been charged with murder in the death of 36-year-old Carlos Oyenarte, who was fatally shot last month.
On August 19, District 4 patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on Lake Shore Boulevard. Officers found Oyenarte with a gunshot wound; he later died from his injuries.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives investigated and identified Washington as the suspect. Washington was already in custody on unrelated charges when detectives arrested him for Oyenarte’s murder.
The State Attorney’s Office is working with JSO to prosecute the case and seek justice for Oyenarte’s family.
