On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia attempted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet TrailBlazer. The driver refused to stop, sparking a pursuit that continued southbound into the north end of Hamilton County, Florida. Deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Jennings Police Department joined the chase as it crossed into Florida.
The driver entered the Oak Woodlands subdivision, where he lost control and crashed at the intersection of Northwest 13th Drive and Northwest 34th Boulevard. The crash damaged several road signs, including stop signs, prompting the Florida Highway Patrol to respond and handle the crash investigation.
After the wreck, the suspect ran from the scene. Deputies from Hamilton County and Lowndes County, along with officers from the Jennings and Jasper police departments, quickly set up a perimeter. The Hamilton County Correctional Institute K-9 Team arrived moments later and deployed bloodhounds to track the suspect.
The suspect was found and taken into custody a short time later by Hamilton County deputies with support from the K-9 team. Authorities determined he had multiple outstanding warrants. He is now facing additional charges from Lowndes County, Hamilton County, and the Jennings Police Department related to the pursuit, crash, and attempt to flee.
Officials say more details will be released as the investigation continues.
