PANAMA CITY, FL – A traffic stop in Panama City has led to the arrest of a couple on serious drug trafficking and child neglect charges. On Friday, January 9, 2026, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) intercepted a vehicle containing a significant amount of fentanyl and a young child.
The stop occurred near 15th Street and Bayview Avenue. During the interaction, BCSO K-9 Fila alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle, prompting a full search.
Trafficking and Possession
According to investigators, the search of the vehicle and its occupants yielded the following:
- Marc Mills: Found in possession of 11.4 grams of fentanyl, a quantity that meets the threshold for felony trafficking charges in Florida.
- Darya Mills: Found in possession of fentanyl pills.
- Additional Contraband: Deputies also located a small amount of cocaine and various items of drug paraphernalia inside the car.
Child Neglect Charges
The most serious addition to the drug charges involves the presence of a small child in the vehicle during the commission of these felonies. As a result, both Marc and Darya Mills were charged with Child Neglect.
Charges Filed
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office booked the pair into the Bay County Jail with the following charges:
Marc Mills
- Trafficking in Fentanyl (More than 7 Grams)
- Child Neglect
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Darya Mills
- Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute
- Child Neglect
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
“The Bay County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to removing dangerous narcotics from our community and protecting the safety of our citizens,” the department stated in a news release.
