Teen Arrested After Drug Deal Shooting Leaves One Injured in Port Orange

Port Orange, FL — A 16-year-old has been arrested following a shooting Monday afternoon that investigators say stemmed from a narcotics transaction.

The Port Orange Police Department responded at approximately 2:45 p.m. on March 9, 2026, to reports of a shooting with injuries near Clyde Morris Boulevard and Reed Canal Road.

When officers arrived in the area, they located two victims in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven. One victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury, while the second victim was not injured.

Preliminary investigation revealed the shooting actually occurred in the parking lot of the 3500 block of Forest Branch Drive before the victims were located at the convenience store.

Detectives determined there was a single shooter involved in the incident. The suspect fled the scene but was later identified as 16-year-old Dywann Andrews.

Authorities say the shooting stemmed from the sale of narcotics.

Andrews was located and taken into custody at approximately 8:40 p.m. the same day.

He is facing multiple charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, robbery with a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and concealing evidence.

Police also recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the incident shortly after Andrews’ arrest.
