TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A 33-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the death of his 3-year-old son following a shooting last year, authorities said.
Kadeem Thomas surrendered on Monday, April 6, at his attorney’s office, where he was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
The case stems from an incident on November 9, 2025, when Leon County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 4000 block of Augustus Oak Court in Northwest Tallahassee in reference to a reported shooting.
During the investigation, authorities determined that 3-year-old Kane Thomas had been shot with a firearm belonging to his father.
Following the months-long investigation, warrants were issued for Thomas’ arrest. He is now charged with culpable negligence resulting in injury or death. His bond was set at $25,000.
No additional details have been released at this time.
