JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three current and former Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers have been arrested following an internal investigation into fraudulent overtime claims, Sheriff T.K. Waters announced Thursday.
Sergeant Michael Rourke, Officer Christopher Sosa, and former Officer Dylan Bostick were charged with grand theft, organized fraud, and official misconduct, all third-degree felonies. Authorities said the charges stem from a scheme involving false overtime claims tied to traffic enforcement assignments.
The investigation began on February 12, 2026, when the agency’s Integrity Unit uncovered that another individual, Christian Madsen, had submitted false overtime claims for work that was never completed. That discovery led investigators to examine additional payments within the Motor Unit, where they identified similar misconduct involving Rourke, Sosa, and Bostick.
According to investigators, all three men knowingly submitted false claims for overtime traffic assignments and received compensation for work they did not perform. Rourke received more than $4,600 in public funds, Sosa more than $10,700, and Bostick more than $18,000.
Authorities said the conduct represented an ongoing pattern rather than isolated incidents or administrative errors.
In March, Rourke and Sosa were suspended from duty, while Bostick resigned from the agency. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it will seek the termination of both Rourke and Sosa.
Officials stated that no additional arrests are expected in connection with the overtime misconduct investigation.
