GILCHRIST COUNTY, Fla. — Two men have been arrested following separate investigations into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Authorities identified the suspects as 31-year-old Willis Charles Douglas of Trenton and 31-year-old Coty Jade Streit of Bell.
Douglas is charged with one count each of transmission of child pornography by electronic device and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Streit faces 15 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, one count of transmission of child pornography by electronic device and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
Officials said both investigations began after FDLE agents received cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
On April 20, agents with FDLE and the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Douglas’ residence and seized his phone. Investigators said evidence showed he was downloading and sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of children through a social media account.
In a separate investigation, agents determined Streit used an electronic payment application to purchase child sexual abuse material using Bitcoin. Authorities said further investigation revealed he used a social media account to receive, transmit and solicit files depicting the sexual abuse of children.
Streit was arrested April 22.
Both men were booked into the Gilchrist County Jail.
Officials said Douglas’ case will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit, while Streit’s case will be handled by the Office of Statewide Prosecution in Jacksonville.
The investigations remain ongoing.
