FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A man identified by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office as a target of “Operation: Summer Slammer” has been sentenced to state prison following multiple narcotics investigations.
Authorities said Leonard Fries Jr. pleaded no contest Feb. 18, 2026, to charges including:
- Trafficking in cocaine
- Sale of cocaine
- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell
- Possession of a Schedule I or III substance with intent to sell
On May 19, Circuit Judge Dawn Nichols adjudicated Fries guilty and sentenced him to four and a half years in state prison.
According to investigators, Fries had originally faced 13 total charges tied to two separate arrests in 2025.
Detectives with the sheriff’s office Special Investigations Unit first arrested Fries on May 16, 2025, during a narcotics-related search warrant at his residence. Authorities said additional charges followed after a second arrest on Aug. 22, 2025, stemming from continued investigation.
Rick Staly said Fries portrayed himself publicly as a reputable business owner and supporter of law enforcement while allegedly trafficking narcotics.
“If you’re peddling poison in Flagler County, no matter how good of an act you put on to hide your drug dealing, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office will find you and arrest you,” Staly said.
Officials said Fries is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility awaiting transfer to the Florida Department of Corrections.
