SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL – A Lake City woman is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say she used her vehicle to strike two people during an altercation outside a Suwannee County bar.
According to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Keg Room Bar at approximately 1 a.m. on May 30 following reports of a disturbance involving a vehicle and multiple victims.
Investigators determined that an altercation occurred in the parking lot involving 22-year-old Blaire Barnett of Lake City.
Witnesses told deputies that during the confrontation, Barnett allegedly used her vehicle in an attempt to strike one individual before hitting two other people.
According to investigators, one victim was knocked to the ground, while a second victim was pushed approximately 30 feet by the vehicle.
Deputies obtained witness statements identifying Barnett as the driver and reviewed video footage of the incident as part of their investigation.
While speaking with Barnett, deputies observed signs of impairment, including bloodshot and watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Authorities said Barnett admitted to consuming alcohol.
Investigators reported that Barnett initially agreed to perform field sobriety exercises but later refused to complete them.
Barnett was arrested and transported to the Suwannee County Jail. After being advised of Florida’s Implied Consent law, she also refused to provide a breath sample, according to deputies.
Barnett was charged with:
- Aggravated Battery
- Aggravated Assault
- Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
The investigation remains ongoing.
