GAINESVILLE, FL — A 55-year-old massage therapist has been arrested and charged with sexual battery following a multi-month investigation by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Special Victims Unit into inappropriate conduct at a Northwest Gainesville chiropractic clinic.
Jason Michael Vigliotti was taken into custody on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Detectives believe the reported incident is not isolated and are actively appealing to the public to identify additional potential victims.
Allegations of Escalating Abuse and Manipulation
The investigation was launched in April 2026 after ACSO Detective C. Bierman was assigned to a sexual battery report. The initial victim, who had received massage therapy services from Vigliotti on numerous occasions, disclosed a pattern of unprofessional and predatory behavior that steadily escalated over time.
According to investigative files, Vigliotti took advantage of the victim’s unfamiliarity with standard clinical massage practices. The victim reported that during therapy sessions, Vigliotti left intimate areas of their body exposed for prolonged periods. The misconduct escalated to Vigliotti inappropriately touching the victim’s intimate areas with his own body and a massage device.
Following the encounters, Vigliotti allegedly attempted to manipulate and silence the victim. The victim told detectives that Vigliotti explicitly instructed them not to speak to anyone about the sessions and insinuated that law enforcement should not be notified. Vigliotti also reportedly refused payment for the sessions while actively pushing to schedule future appointments.
Arrest and Call for Additional Victims
As the Special Victims Unit dug deeper, detectives interviewed multiple credible sources familiar with the suspect. The information gathered revealed a broader history of Vigliotti engaging in inappropriate behavior during professional massage sessions.
Following his arrest, Vigliotti was transported to the Alachua County Jail.
Active Special Victims Unit Notice: Law enforcement officials strongly believe there may be other individuals in the Gainesville area who experienced similar misconduct while under Vigliotti’s care.
