JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has arrested 11 people and obtained two additional arrest warrants following a months-long undercover investigation targeting suspected drug trafficking at a motel long associated with criminal activity.
According to the sheriff’s office, officers have responded for years to repeated calls for service at the Metro Inn on Golfair Boulevard involving illegal drug activity, violent crimes, thefts and other offenses.
In January 2026, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit launched a long-term undercover operation focused on drug sales at the Brentwood-area motel.
Over several months, undercover detectives conducted controlled purchases of synthetic drugs commonly known as “Flakka” from individuals investigators say were selling narcotics from the property.
The investigation, dubbed “Operation Metro Boomin’,” resulted in the arrests of:

- Kayla Dixon, 32
- Daniel White, 21
- Waymond Hamilton, 32
- Tiffany Charles, 37
- Michael Handy, 37
- Alea Smith, 31
- Shatoria Harrison, 36
- Troyane Pinkard, 48
Investigators said two additional arrest warrants remain outstanding.
The sheriff’s office said the operation significantly disrupted illegal drug activity at the motel but emphasized that enforcement efforts in the area will continue.
Officials also noted that one of the lead detectives on the case had previously responded to numerous calls at the property while serving as a patrol officer and later made it a personal goal to target the persistent criminal activity there.
