ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A St. Augustine man accused of selling fentanyl through undercover transactions and operating a private website for narcotics sales was arrested after deputies searched his home and seized drugs, 11 firearms, drug-manufacturing equipment and more than $22,000 in cash.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said its Special Investigations Unit began investigating 30-year-old Tyler Marrs and conducted multiple undercover purchases of fentanyl from him.
During the investigation, detectives also identified what the sheriff’s office described as a private website operated by Marrs for the purchase and delivery of narcotics. The agency did not provide additional details about how the website operated or how customers accessed it.
On Sept. 3, detectives executed a search warrant at Marrs’ home on Timberwood Drive in St. Augustine.
Inside, investigators reported finding 5.5 grams of fentanyl, 3.7 grams of methamphetamine and 78.2 grams of a substance suspected of being a Schedule I synthetic opioid.
Deputies also recovered 18 grams of an unidentified white powder, 122.5 grams of various pills and 22 Suboxone films, according to SJSO.
Investigators said they found precursor chemicals along with equipment they believe was being used to manufacture and distribute drugs. The items included a pill press, laboratory manual, glassware, vials, packaging materials and labels.
A 3D printer and money counter were also seized.
Detectives recovered 11 firearms and two drones from the residence, along with $22,477 in cash.
The sheriff’s office did not identify the suspected synthetic opioid or the unidentified white powder in its announcement, and it did not specify what substances were contained in the various pills. The agency also did not say whether the seized materials had undergone final laboratory testing.
Marrs was arrested on charges of possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of a legend drug with intent to sell, use or display of a firearm during the commission of a felony, manufacture or delivery of drug paraphernalia, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
