FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – A former behavioral health assistant at Middleburg High School who also worked with youth football programs has been arrested on seven felony counts involving child sexual abuse material, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
Robert Rahn III, 36, of Fleming Island, is charged with seven counts of knowingly possessing and/or intentionally viewing child sexual abuse material.
The arrest followed an investigation by the sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit with assistance from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the North Florida INTERCEPT Task Force.
Investigators executed a search warrant Sept. 29 at a home on Blackhawk Court in Fleming Island. The occupants came outside and were detained without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives said evidence developed during the investigation established probable cause to arrest Rahn. The sheriff’s office did not disclose what investigators seized during the search or provide details about the material underlying the seven charges.
Rahn was booked into the Clay County Jail.
The sheriff’s office said Rahn previously worked as a behavioral health assistant at Middleburg High School from August 2021 until February 2022 and volunteered with the school’s football team.
Investigators also have reason to believe Rahn coached or volunteered with youth football teams in the Nassau County and Tallahassee areas. The sheriff’s office did not identify those teams or specify when he was associated with them.
The investigation remains active, and detectives are seeking information from anyone who may be able to assist.
