GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 29-year-old Gainesville man was arrested after a woman’s Ring security camera captured a man allegedly engaging in lewd behavior on her second-floor back porch, according to the Gainesville Police Department.
Jaimickel Florence, 29, was arrested on a voyeurism charge and an outstanding warrant for violation of probation after officers identified him through surveillance footage.
The investigation began Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, when a woman contacted Gainesville police to report that her home security camera had recorded a man behaving inappropriately on her back porch late Friday night, Oct. 2.
The woman told investigators she had previously been confronted by the same individual but did not know his identity. She expressed concern for her safety following the latest incident.
Officers reviewed the Ring camera footage and created a bulletin containing still images of the suspect, which they distributed in an effort to identify him.
Police subsequently located Florence, who matched the individual shown in the recording.
According to investigators, Florence was still wearing the same pants and shoes visible in the surveillance video when officers found him.
He was taken into custody on the outstanding probation violation warrant and the new voyeurism charge.
Florence was transported to the Alachua County Jail.
Police Believe There May Be Additional Victims
The Gainesville Police Department said investigators believe other people in the community may have encountered Florence engaging in similar behavior.
Authorities are asking anyone who has had contact with Florence or witnessed him behaving inappropriately to contact the department.
Police have not disclosed the location of the woman’s residence or provided details about the nature of the previous confrontation between her and Florence.
Investigators also have not released information about the underlying offense connected to his probation violation warrant.
The department credited the security camera footage with helping officers identify the suspect and locate him.
