Storms increase today with some heavy soakers

We had a break in the active weather pattern but rain is returning and some will be heavy.

Morning showers are possible over southern Georgia but the rest of us won’t see much until the afternoon and evening.

Rain chances rise to 80% after 3 pm. Storms will start just after lunchtime in Georgia and track southward to the 1-10 corridor early this afternoon. Rain pushes into Jacksonville and southward locations through the early evening.

The heaviest rain around Duval and surrounding counties is from 3 to 7 p.m. followed by fading light showers after sunset.

Highs reach the low 90s before the afternoon clouds increase.

Saturday afternoon and evening scattered storms will track back to the coast and this steering flow returns Sunday with a 60% chance of rain over the weekend. Highs stay in the low 90s before heating into the mid 90s early next week.
