Volunteers Take to the Pedals to Combat Violence

Quench The Violence nonprofit has been serving the Jacksonville community for over 20 years under the leadership of Disciples of Christ Pastor Robert LeCount. The annual bike ride was kicked off by Sheriff TK Waters on Saturday morning and ended at the Shoppes of Sherwood. The community and family fun day begin immediately following the bike ride. The agenda for the day included The Groove Coalition, local rappers, free BBQ and all the country fixins! Quench The Violence supporters are continuing their fight to bring awareness to gun violence statistics while engaging the community to protest gun hostility in the Northside community. Shown completing their bike ride L-R is organizer Dwight Brisbane, supporters Michelle Ingram and Sarah Ridgeway.
