Raines Class of 1971 Throws Epic 70s Party

The William M. Raines class of 1971 held the ultimate throwback basement party to accent their annual class picnic reunion.  Classmates were dressed in their 1971 attire to celebrate classmates as 70 year old baby boomers at the Legends Center! The events had a universal birthday theme: “We have only reached a plateau; we have yet to reach the horizon.”

Hundreds of alumni and friends proudly showcased their 1970s colorful hip-hugger, brims and bell-bottom attire. During the event, classmates enjoyed a bevy of refreshments, dancing, best dress contest and reminiscing on the historic school that produced their signature Japanese moniker ‘Ichiban,’ that means first or number one.

“We had a great time.  We don’t know what’s on the horizon, we still here and plan to enjoy every minute of it,” said alumni Gregory Cato shown with classmate Rosalyn Cozwell.
