4 firms submit bids to assist in ‘Stadium of the Future’ developments

The city of Jacksonville is moving forward with progress to make the “Stadium of the Future” a reality in Jacksonville.

As the Jaguars President Mark Lamping said just a week ago, stadium negotiations were expected to ramp up in early 2024.

On Wednesday, the bids were unsealed, detailing the four companies wanting to assist the city negotiations team with reviewing construction estimates, preparing budgets and analyzing the integrity and durability of the stadium’s infrastructure, News4JAX partner The Daily Record reported.

The $2 billion dream is to redevelop the stadium and the surrounding area with half the money coming from taxpayers.

The bidding firms are listed as:

Gilbane, a Rhode Island-based construction management company with offices in JacksonvilleCES Consultants Inc., a Florida-based engineering firm that also has offices in JacksonvilleJacksonville-based McCall Construction ManagementLegends Project Development, an international project management company with offices in the U.S. and Europe

No other details were released.

The bid will be scored, then a contract will be negotiated.

The Daily Record said the winning firm will work with the negotiating team led by Mike Weinstein, the city’s chief negotiator for the stadium deal, and Chicago-based law firm Sidley Austin.
