Fortis College in Orange Park will be offering free dental education and care to Northeast Florida children on Friday.
According to Fortis College, attendees will be able to benefit from many preventative services such as screening exams, fluoride varnish applications, coronal polishing, and more.
Apart from the free dental care services, children will be able to learn proper flossing and brushing techniques from future dental care professionals who will be offering demonstrations.
“This event provides our students hands-on dental experience while simultaneously addressing a vital health need in our community,” said Fortis College in Orange Park Campus President Wyman Dickey. “We look forward to raising awareness for proper pediatric oral care and bringing the Orange Park community together – one smile at a time.”
According to the college, all dental-assisting students participating in the event are supervised by an on-site dentist.
This event is part of the American Dental Association (ADA) Foundation’s “Give Kids A Smile” program. This program was launched nationally in 2003 as a way for dentists to provide dental services to underserved children.
