On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, authorities in Jacksonville responded to a shooting incident on Pritmore Road. The victim, identified as Gavin Rickard, a 19-year-old male, was found with gunshot wounds upon arrival. Despite efforts by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department personnel, Rickard was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene Units initiated investigations into the incident. Early identification of the suspect led to the arrest of Wilkins Dessalines, a 33-year-old male, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, on charges of Second-Degree Murder.
