Port Orange Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Series of Business Burglaries

On Thursday morning, April 18th, in the Barefoot Park neighborhood off Madeline Avenue, Port Orange Police Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the South East Volusia Regional SWAT team, executed a residential search warrant.

The target of the investigation was Alan Gaudreau, suspected in a string of overnight business burglaries spanning several months. Detectives discovered evidentiary items and recovered stolen property, solidifying Gaudreau’s connection to the crimes. The SEVR SWAT team was deployed due to reports of stolen firearms.

The businesses affected included two laundromats, a convenience store, and a spa. Investigations into additional area business burglaries are ongoing.

Alan Gaudreau was arrested without incident and faces charges including multiple business burglaries, criminal mischief, theft, violation of probation, and additional narcotics charges. He was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail under no bond.

Authorities expressed gratitude to the SEVR SWAT team, comprising members from the Port Orange Police Department, South Daytona Police Department, New Smyrna Beach Police Department, City of Edgewater Police Department, Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety, and Ormond Beach Police Department.
