Port Orange Man Arrested for Threatening Neighbor with Firearm and Firing Shots

Port Orange Police responded to a neighbor disturbance on Tuesday night, April 16, 2024, where one neighbor was threatened with a firearm.

Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspect, identified as Brett McPeek, who fired a gunshot in the vicinity of officers, the victim, and other neighbors present. Officers apprehended McPeek after negotiation.

Following his arrest, two handguns, including a .38 Special revolver with a spent shell casing, were recovered from McPeek’s property through a search warrant.

McPeek faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, and is detained at Volusia County Branch Jail without bond.
