Police Arrest Suspect in 2023 Jacksonville Homicide

On Friday, May 24, 2024, Cierra Marie Martin (Black/Female, 31), previously serving a prison sentence for Aggravated Assault, was arrested for the murder of Dylonn Bealle-Veneziale (White/Male, 24) on Monday, June 12, 2023.

Officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding an unresponsive male in the 1300 block of Eddy Road on the mentioned date. Upon arrival, they discovered Bealle-Veneziale suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, Bealle-Veneziale was pronounced deceased.

Following an extensive investigation involving the JSO’s Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Unit, and collaboration with the State Attorney’s Office, Martin was identified as the suspect responsible for the crime.

Martin, already serving time in Lowell Correctional Institute for Aggravated Assault, was transported to the Police Memorial Building for questioning by Homicide Detectives. Subsequently, she was arrested and booked into the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility on charges of murder.

The arrest marks a significant development in the case that has been under investigation since 2023.
