The City of Jacksonville’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (JaxParks) has unveiled a robust lineup of free events and programs designed to engage the community in fitness, arts, music, and entertainment across downtown Jacksonville.
Friendship Fountain Programs
Located at 1015 Museum Circle Dr., Friendship Fountain hosts a variety of events:
- Friendsgiving Fountain (Nov. 24, 2–7 p.m.): Food trucks, live music, a cash bar, and seating for attendees.
- 1st Thursday Yoga (6–7 p.m.): Outdoor yoga with Hot Spot Power Yoga. Bring your mat, towel, and water.
- 1st Friday Nights (6–9:30 p.m.): Live DJ, food trucks, cash bar, and lawn games under the illuminated fountain.
- 2nd Saturday Jazz (7–9:30 p.m.): Live performances paired with stunning water and light displays.
Fitness Programs Along the Riverwalk
Weekly fitness classes are open to all levels, no registration required:
- Yoga: Tuesdays, 6–7 p.m. at Artist Walk Amphitheater (715 Riverside Ave.)
- Zumba: Tuesdays, 6–7 p.m. at Sidney J. Gefen Park (505 Alfred Dupont Pl.)
- Total Body Conditioning: Thursdays, 6–7 p.m. at Artist Walk Amphitheater
- BodyCombat: Saturdays, 9–10 a.m. at Sidney J. Gefen Park
- Run/Walk Clubs: Intermediate and advanced sessions available at Northbank Riverwalk (201 East Coastline Dr.).
Veterans and military members are also encouraged to join free Thursday yoga sessions at Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park (6–7 p.m.).
Latin Dance Classes
Dive into social Latin dancing every Wednesday, 6–7 p.m., at Northbank Riverwalk Artist Square (729 Riverside Ave.). All levels are welcome to learn and enjoy a variety of Latin dance styles.
Photo Walks and Art in the Park
- Photo Walks: Explore downtown Jacksonville’s scenic spots on the last Saturday of each month (10 a.m.–12 p.m.), with November’s walk set at the Jacksonville Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
- Art in the Park: Free art classes for all ages on Saturdays, held at Treaty Oak in Jesse Ball Dupont Park. Materials are provided, and classes are segmented by age group throughout the month.
Movie Nights
Enjoy family-friendly movies at the Artist Walk Amphitheater (715 Riverside Ave.), complete with free popcorn and themed food trucks:
- Despicable Me 4 (Nov. 15)
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Dec. 20)
