The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire, Arson & Explosives, is investigating two separate arson incidents in Jacksonville’s District 1 area, both involving Molotov cocktails. Authorities believe the two incidents are connected and have released details in hopes of identifying the suspects.

The first incident occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 23, 2024, near North Main Street and 43rd Street East. The victim reported finding a broken bottle near a burned area on their front porch. A second bottle, identified as a Molotov cocktail, was also discovered. Surveillance footage captured an unidentified individual lighting an object and throwing it at the residence before fleeing.
The second incident took place early Monday morning, November 25, 2024. Surveillance video showed two suspects approaching a small structure, igniting a Molotov cocktail, and throwing it against the structure, causing an explosion. The pair then repeated the act with a second device before fleeing on foot.
Authorities believe at least one suspect was involved in both incidents.
