17-year-old Fugitive Wanted for Attempted Murder Arrested on I-95 in Flagler County

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A 17-year-old fugitive wanted on multiple violent felony warrants, including attempted first-degree murder, was arrested during a coordinated traffic stop on Interstate 95, authorities said.

The arrest occurred Thursday, April 2, around 6:00 p.m., after the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office alerted Flagler County deputies that a vehicle traveling southbound on I-95 was believed to be transporting a wanted suspect from Polk and Orange counties.

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit deputies, working alongside the Florida Highway Patrol and the U.S. Marshals Service, conducted a traffic stop based on probable cause. Carlos Moreno-Bolivar, 17, of Orlando, was taken into custody without incident.

Moreno-Bolivar is wanted on an Orange County warrant for robbery with a firearm and multiple Polk County warrants tied to a March 24 armed robbery and shooting in Davenport. Charges include attempted first-degree murder with a weapon, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, discharging a firearm in public, shooting into a vehicle, building, or aircraft, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.

“Flagler County will not be a pass-through for violent offenders,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This arrest is the result of outstanding police work and strong partnerships.”

Moreno-Bolivar was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility before being transferred to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

Authorities said the Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the other occupants of the vehicle. A second suspect connected to the Davenport shooting was arrested in Orange County on March 31.
