The indictments were the result of collaborative investigations by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office. Both investigations revealed that the suspects, Brian Edward Jessup, 44, and Kio’Maris De’Jai Moore, 27, supplied fentanyl-laced substances that led to the victims’ fatal overdoses.

Sheriff Rambosk emphasized the significance of these charges, stating, “Our interest in law enforcement today is not only the dealer, not only the supplier, not only the manufacturer and the possession of drugs or the distribution of drugs, but the charging of murder for those who are killing with fentanyl.”

Jessup and Moore each face first-degree murder charges for unlawful distribution of fentanyl, a capital felony. Jessup also faces a second-degree felony charge for the sale or delivery of a controlled substance.
